1.     BUSINESS PROCESS OF PT. SEMEN INDONESIA
PT SMI is a strategic holding company of PT. Semen Padang, PT. Semen Gresik, PT. Tonasa, and PT. Thang Long.
PT. SMI has recently launch and will soon be operational PT. Semen Indonesia Aceh.

Strategy of PT. Semen Indonesia:

There are two network decisions they are local inventories (there are  so many network logistic such as more facility, the product closer to the customer, focused market) and centralized inventories (longer delivery time, less facility, focused factory).
PT. Semen Indonesia using system stock monitoring the function is to monitoring the position of stock product in distibutor warehouse.

Logistics is the process of planning, implementation and control of the flow of raw material, work in process product, as well as finished product, which are carried out effectively and efficiently. (Balou, 1999)

3. DISTRIBUTION

      The distribution of the specific course of the destination with the cheapest cost and ontime to the consumer. However, this cement is a business that has the large fees or charges. Almost 30% -40% cost of its existing large market in transport.

Terms are in use in the delivery:
a.       FOT (Free On Truck)  : goods that have been in the truck can be brought to the                                                   desired or  doing in truck sales.
b.      FOB (Free On Board) : make sales on board.
c.       Franco                        : inter willing to destination
d.      CIF                              : shipping goods to the port of destination in addition to insurance.With the construction of cement plants in every corner of the archipelago will be able to shorten the distribution of goods that will lead to cost savings in distribution. In the distribution, the cost is determined calculations.
